Name:
Nick Rank
Home tracks:
Trackside Hobbies and Raceways -- Brookfield,WI
Classes they race:
Trackside has both a High Bite Dirt Oval and a Offroad --- Locally and Nationally I race Modified Sprint, ROAR Sprint, ROAR Latemodel.
What got them into R/C:
I was watching my neighbor tear up his yard with a Tamiya Frog in 1984. I had to have an RC Car after that. I worked side jobs - cut grass, shoveled snow, etc to buy my first RC car which was a Team Associated RC10 (wish I would have kept it). In 1985 went to a few hobby shops that had tracks and became hook on racing ever since. One of the Hobby Shops was the Original Trackside which opened in 1984, I have been a loyal customer and supporter of Trackside since 1985.
Experiences they have had in RC:
Been RC Racing for just under 40 years. So the experiences and stories are vast. I have traveled multiple times on a national level. The most important part of this hobby for me is the people I have met and became friends with. My longest sponsorship started in 1992 with Custom Works RC and I am still on the team to this day. I also collect / restore RC Vintage Dirt Oval Cars and I am embarrassed to say that my collection is currently just over 160 cars ( early 1980s to early 2000s) .
How they describe DRC:
Being a Business owner myself, I certainly appreciate Zacs Passion for his business. Zac is a craftsman and he is always looking to grow and advance his business. I use all the DRC products that pertain to my racing and have zero issues with them.
How they describe themselves:
I would describe myself as a workaholic. I have not taken a full week vacation in 25 years and I am working on changing that fact. I own a powersports business for the last 25 years with 50 employees, many have stuck with me for years. I tend to have long time friends and relationships in both personal and business. On the RC car side, I help new racers and really anyone at the track when asked. Always want to see this hobby continue to grow.
How they describe being on the team:
I am very grateful to be on the DRC Team. I promote DRC when racing and in general discussions with fellow racers. At times we test products for DRC before they are considered to be for sale. At that time we can share our opinions and correct anything before they go to market to ensure a great product for the end user.
